Starting in the summer of 2019, Marijn has taken his passion for dance to a new level as a freelance choreographer and dancer.
His dedication and expertise has allowed him to seamlessly step into the world of freelance choreography and directing. His hope is to bring his decades of experience and ideas to life as he designs inspiring art.
Tour with Diana Vishneva in 'Sleeping Beauty Dreams'
Throughout 2018, Marijn toured across Russia and the United States as a primary dancer alongside world-famous Diana Vishneva in a touring production of ‘Sleeping Beauty Dreams’. This advanced, hi-tech production allowed Marijn to experience the world of professional choreography, assisting alongside acclaimed choreographer Edward Clug.
‘Prix de Benois’ Nomination
Marijn was honored to be nominated for Prix de Benois - an international Ballet competition held annually in Moscow awarding top veterans of the ballet industry.
Grand-Prix 'Dance Open' Award
Marijn was awarded the St. Petersburg International Ballet’s Grand-Prix Dance Open award, a recognition honoring the highest personal achievements of ballet soloists.
Dutch National Ballet Master
In 2018, Marijn was promoted to Assistant Ballet Master for the main company of the Dutch National Ballet. He also led the junior company as Ballet Master and Schedule Coordinator.
Dutch National Ballet Principal
Marijn was honored to join the Dutch National Ballet as a principal dancer on January 1, 2015. His repertoire as principal dancer spanned roles in classical ballets such as:

‘Special Prize’ Award by Stichting Dansersfonds ’79
Marijn was awarded the Special Prize award as part of the Stichting Dansersfonds Prizes. The awards, first initiated in 1979 by the founders Alexandra Radius and Han Ebbelaar, are the longest existing Dutch dance awards in the country.
'ApuliArte' Dance Prize Award
Marijn received the International Dance Prize Award, given annually at the ApuliArte dance festival in Barletta, Italy. This award honors outstanding dance artists in their performance field.
German Dance Prize Award ‘Future’
Marijn received the German Dance ‘Future’ Prize Award - an honor of outstanding personalities of dance in Germany. The ‘Future’ prize highlights Marijn’s future-oriented initiatives, exemplary concepts, and extraordinary performances in his craft.
‘Der Faust’ Award
In 2006, Marijn was awarded the 'Der Faust' Award for Best Solo Dance Performance for his role in "Äffi" by Marco Goecke. The 'Der Faust' awards are given by the German Stage Association and German Academy of Performing Arts.
Stuttgart Ballet Principal
Marijn’s rise to prominence began following the premier of Lady of the Camellias by John Neumeier. Following this critical success, the Stuttgart Ballet promoted Marijn to principal dancer with his one-of-a-kind performance.
As part of the Stuttgart Ballet, Marijn danced in ballets with prominent roles like Don Quijote, La Sylphide or Giselle and plays of John Cranko such as:

Marijn began his career in professional dance as part of the acclaimed Stuttgart Ballet. Marijn began his role as corps de ballet in 2000, and was promoted to the role of demi-soloist in 2004 after his inspiring roles and performances caught the eyes of audiences.
'Grace Price' by Stichting Dansersfonds ’79
Marijn rose to prominence in the dance circles with his win at the annual competition of young dancers by the Alexandra Radius and Han Ebbelaar Foundation. Following his win, Marijn joined the Stuttgart Ballet to begin his professional career.
The Beginning
Born in 1981 in Nijmegen, Netherlands, Marijn Rademaker discovered a passion for dance and performance art at an early age. He continued to master his personal style and professional form at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, Artez in Arnhem. After winning the 1999 Grace Prize of Foundation Dansersfonds ‘79, Marijn completed his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2000. In his earliest years, Marijn discovered that steadfast dedication, commitment to excellence, and investments in mastery were the only way to dance with integrity and passion that moved audiences.
